SharePoint Approval workflow status not changed after all task completed

$

Dear Team,

Recently we have been seeing strange behavior in OOTB Approval workflows on our SharePoint 2016 production environment  (App servers -3, WFE's - 4, SAS server -1 and SQL 2014 server - 1).

Most of the approval workflows are completing successfully, but very few approval workflows (2 out of 120) status showing "In-Progress" (see below image) forever even all workflow tasks completed, also customers keep receiving task remainder email notification even they completed their tasks. It looks workflow went to the infinite loop.

We observed that this happens only when the task completed after the due date.

In order to find the root cause, we have verified all settings such as event logs, SP logs, timer jobs, workflow task list settings and workflow history list, all are looks goods, but not sure why this happening only for few workflows.

Can you please review this and provide your suggestions/advises?

How to set up the workflow logic to skip one approval ?

Hello There,

I can create the custom list workflow but can someone help me how to setup workflow logic and condition for below in flowchart? I will use Approve/Reject option from SharePoint workflow.

Once user submit the form workflow will start and send a form to user's manager for approval. (I setup workflow up to here i need help after this) Once manager approve (Here i need to possibilities)

So, if manager approve the form and he/she checked the form everything is correct no doubt now manager think instead of sending this form to manager's manager for approval she want to send directly to HR for approval (How can i setup condition here in workflow can anyone help me with logic step by step?).

IF Manager want to send the form direct to HR how we can define in workflow ?

And

If manager want to send form to Manager's manager and then to HR how should i define it in workflow ?

Can anyone please help me with this ? I really Appreciate your time and help.

Approval Workflow using Wrong Profile

$

Hi,

I'm using the Sharepoint online approval workflow via the team flow tab. I've set it up so that when a user sends an e-mail with an attachment to a shared mailbox it triggers the approval workflow. This part is working fine but what is happening is when the approvers get the notification it shows that it came from me and not them.

I've been looking at placing the Get User Profile after the trigger but can't seem to get this to work to carry the submitting users attributes and not mine. I'm assuming its because I'm the workflow Author but this could be triggered from anyone hence it needs to reflect their details.

Has anyone had this or knows how to ensure this shows the relevant user creds.

Thanks for your help in advance.

SharePoint Designer workflows not open/edit after migration into SharePoint 2016

Dear Experts,

We have recently installed SharePoint 2016 in sand box and migrated two applications with content DB. After this when we are trying to access designer workflows which are created in SP 2013 & SP 2010 workflow template in SharePoint designer 2013 and we are seeing below error message. As per blogs we have cleaned up (C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SharePoint Designer\ProxyAssemblyCache) cache, but still seeing same error message. This is happening only when accessing SP 2016 migrated sites, we did not see any issues with SP 2013. Is there any limits with SP 2016 or we missed anything?

Looking forward your great advises on this.

Thank you!

SharePoint 2013 Workflow Internal Status remains "Started" even after it completes

$

Hello,

I got a weird issue. I did not see this issue during development on single server farm. But I got it on multi server farm. Let me give a brief about my server farm.

1 Application with Search server (Workflow manager installed on this server), 1 WFE with Distributed Cache server and 1 Database server

SharePoint 2016 with Feature Pack 2

Workflow Manager 1.0 with CU3, Workflow Manager Client 1.0 with CU3 and Service Bus 1.1

I did continuously 5 tests and out of 5 only for 2 tests the workflow internal status becameCompleted and for remaining, stuck at Started even though workflow executes all steps successfully. I have 38 workflows and it is happening for all. I tried to trace the issue using event viewer and in ULS logs but no luck.

Please note, all my workflows are SharePoint Hosted Add-in workflows (Integrated apps, deployed on Host-Web).

Please help.

Workflow task assignment

Hello Friends,

I have a WF running on SharePoint list which send tasks to approvers through an email. From the link provided in the email they can go to approval task page in SharePoint and can Reject or Accept from there. Is there any way they can directly reject/approve from email or just incase if the email is lost or deleted, can I set up a link on the home page of the SharePoint site which will take them to their pending approvals only?

Thanks

Service Bus 1.0 Refresh 2 I believe. (I will be happy to provide information if I can) (Control Panel | Add Remove Programs - 2.0.20922.0)

Hardware - Hyper-V VM's, Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition | 2 - WFE's hardware load balanced | 3 app servers, one for search, and Workflow, and two for other like Visio, Word, User Profile Services, etc.

Background - logging on as a domain user on the root site https://DOMAIN and have been granted contribute permissions to a custom list that was created and is a simple text column for title.  Created a 2013 Workflow in SharePoint Designer with full control as that user (then permission removed to contribute), the temporary permissions were granted from the Farm Account (System Account) which is NOT to use workflows, so I am NOT (the workflows, I know, don't work with the farm account)!

Custom List - Contribute permission, single column, set to email the name of the list item.  Set to kick off for change / addition of items automatically.

Troubleshooting -

Experiencing an issue almost exactly like this Marcel Medina post - http://www.sharepoint4developers.net/en-nz/post/sp2013-workflows-suspended-state.aspx   except it is not working for his solution.

Another post extremely similar to the issue I am having - http://valeriovalrosso.blogspot.com/2014/07/howto-solve-workflow-suspended-with.html

Full User Profile Synchronization performed weekly, however did so as needed for checking, then Refresh Trusted Security Token Services Metadata Feed or the PowerShell - Get-SPTimerJob "RefreshMetadataFeed" | Start-SPTimerJob

I have set the group that my ad account is in to be in the custom list that is running the workflow and it has contribute permissions, I also checked and set contribute permission to Workflow History (https://DOMAIN/Lists/Workflow%20History/AllItems.aspx) | Workflow Tasks (https://DOMAIN/WorkflowTasks/AllItems.aspx)
That account does NOT have access to https://DOMAIN/_layouts/15/workflow.aspx | Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you.

After I select / create "New Item" I select the ellipsis control and go to Workflows - Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you.  If I select the them, I go to the View for the ribbon and I have Workflows, and if I select that, I get the same error - Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you.

I have checked on another link / blog -  SharePoint 2013 Workflow gets Suspended by ZA .. SharePoint - http://zasharepoint.blogspot.co.nz/2014/05/sharepoint-2013-workflow-gets-suspended.html  I have the Workflow History and Workflow Tasks for the group that this user, with contribute permission is in, for SharePoint Designer, there should not be any related list for the workflow.

User Profile Synchronization is started and running and a full synchronization has been performed.  Not running the workflow as a SharePoint system user.

The 2013 workflow is able to be created, published, no problems.  History list - Workflow History | Task List - Workflow Tasks | Automatically update the workflow status to the current stage name (Selected).  Two stages (Start of 2013 Workflow), Email (contribute account user), Transition to (2013 Completd Workflow {2nd stage}), on 2nd stage, Comment "comment for completed workflow", Transition to stage (Go to End of Workflow).  About as basic as you can get.  No writing to the history - "log to history" to limit variables with possible issues with permissions on workflow history / history list.

Thank you.

After migrating SP2013 to SP2016, we proceeded to restore the WorkFlow Manager DR server and make the registration

Register-SPWorkflowService -SPSite "https://SERVER01.DOMAIN.net:5005" -WorkflowHostUri "http://SERVER.DOMAIN.net:12291" -AllowOAuthHttp -Force -Verbose

to keep track of the flows that are running, but when trying to execute new flows I get the error

Hi, i need to create a workflow for approve content from a list.

The user is going to create a item with some information asking for money for a project.

If the approver approves the request, he need to insert in a textbox the amount of money he will contribute to the project.

The item created by the user will be updated and will show the amount contributed by the approver.

How can a get this information through the workflow?

Thanks for your attention

How to copy list item from one list to another list in Sharepoint 2010 workflow

Hello There,

I have created list called "Labor Management" and other list called "Workforce management committee". Then created workflow using sharepoint designer 2010 and i added all this condition into one workflow and the workflow is running under"Labor Management" list. Workflow name is "Labor management workflow".

First - once form submit send an email to manager and requester.

Second - then start approval process on current item with manager's manager.

Third - Copy item in current item to Workforce management committee list.

But here in third step it copy the item from labor management list to Workforce management committee list but what i want to do here is it should only copy item from labor management list to workforce management committee list when item is approved by manager's manager if item is Rejected it should not copy from Labor management to workforce management committee.

i tried with the if values condition - if current item labor mgmt workflow = approved , copy item in to Workforce management committee but it did not work.

Can someone please help me with this copy item from one list to another list workflow?

I really appreciate your time and help.

Hey all

I'm working on a problem with a 2013 server, while working on a different problem it was discovered that all 2013 workflows were not working. I eventually came to the event viewer and found these 3 errors all of which point to the Workflow Manager service.

Error 3

Event 7031

The Workflow Manager Backend service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 30000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

After talking with the company that has the server they had a guy transfer the site to a new server but he is no longer with their company, and he left nothing in the way of documentation. At this point on not sure how to go forward. It's not clear whether this was a problem for the whole 2 months or recently since they only needed 2010 workflows up to now

Here is other information i have found from looking at other articles, ill update it as i progress:

The Workflow Manager is up to the February 2018 CU update

I have stopped the re-started theworkflow back end service, no change

This is in a production environment so a reinstall may not be doable at the moment

Installed Workflow Manager and registered but SPD show no 2013 workflow

Hi

my farm:   SharePoint 2013 Enterprise / SP1 / CU July 2017

I installed Workflow Manager 1.0 using Microsoft Web Platform Installer 4.6.

WFM installed and registered successfully.

All WFM services show status running and run under an account with full Admin privilege

I open site in SharePoint Designer but I don't see SharePoint 2013 Workflow  platform only  SharePoint 2010 workflow

I have tried to register WFM but that did not help.

Have anyone see this issue or any advise to how to resolve this.

Thanks in advance

Swanl
